Mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours of water exposure. We contain it, remove it safely, treat what remains, and verify clearance with air-quality testing — all to IICRC S520 standards.
What We Do
True mold remediation is not a deep clean. It is a documented, contained, EPA-aligned process that removes mold colonies and the materials they have rooted into, and verifies the air is safe to breathe before anyone re-enters the space. Done properly, it permanently solves the problem. Done as a "cleaning service," it spreads spores and the problem comes back worse.
QuickRestore runs IICRC AMRT-certified remediation crews. We containment-seal the affected area under negative pressure, remove contaminated porous materials, HEPA-vacuum and antimicrobial-treat what remains, and partner with independent industrial hygienists for post-remediation clearance testing.
Our Process
Visual inspection, moisture mapping, and pre-remediation air-quality testing if warranted.
6-mil plastic barriers, negative-air machines, and HEPA filtration isolate the work area completely.
Mold-contaminated porous materials are removed; remaining surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed and antimicrobial-treated.
Independent air-quality clearance testing confirms safety, then we rebuild and finish the affected area.

Mold spores are present in nearly every indoor environment, but they need moisture to germinate and grow. On porous materials like drywall, wood, and insulation, mold can begin growing within 24 to 48 hours of water exposure under typical Long Island temperature and humidity conditions. The longer water sits, the more aggressive the growth.
Many people exposed to mold experience allergic reactions, asthma flare-ups, sinus irritation, coughing, watery eyes, or skin rashes. Some molds (like Stachybotrys, the so-called "black mold") produce mycotoxins that can cause more serious symptoms, especially in children, elderly people, and those with compromised immune systems. Anyone with persistent unexplained respiratory symptoms in a water-damaged home should consult a doctor.
For tiny surface mold on hard, non-porous materials (under 10 square feet), basic cleaning may work. But mold growing on or behind drywall, wood, insulation, or carpet requires professional remediation under containment to prevent spreading spores throughout the house. Bleach also does not penetrate porous materials and is not recommended by the EPA for mold remediation.
It depends on the cause and your policy. If mold resulted from a covered water event (burst pipe, sudden appliance failure) and was discovered promptly, most New York policies provide some mold coverage — typically capped at $5,000 to $10,000. Long-term, gradual mold caused by maintenance issues is usually not covered. We document the source and timeline to maximize coverage.
IICRC S520 mold remediation involves: (1) inspection and air-quality testing, (2) full containment with plastic barriers and negative-air machines, (3) removal of mold-contaminated porous materials, (4) HEPA vacuuming and antimicrobial treatment of remaining surfaces, (5) drying and reconstruction, (6) post-remediation air-quality testing to verify clearance.
Small contained jobs (one room, less than 100 square feet) typically take 2 to 4 days. Larger or more contaminated jobs run 5 to 10 days. We do not pull containment until post-remediation air-quality testing confirms spore counts are at or below normal indoor levels.
