After the water comes out, the real work begins. Commercial air movers and LGR dehumidifiers dry your walls, floors, and framing to dry-standard moisture — verified daily until materials are truly safe.
Why It Matters
Standing water is the visible problem. Hidden moisture in framing, sub-floors, drywall, and insulation is the expensive one. Materials that look dry on the surface can hold dangerous moisture levels for weeks — long enough to warp hardwood, swell trim, weaken structure, and grow mold colonies behind walls you cannot see.
Applied Structural Drying (ASD) is the IICRC discipline focused on bringing all affected materials back to dry-standard equilibrium. Done right, it saves what would otherwise need to be torn out and rebuilt. Done wrong or skipped, it turns a small claim into a major one.
Our Equipment
3,000+ CFM units that lift moisture from saturated materials and accelerate evaporation across affected surfaces.
Low-grain refrigerant units pull 130+ pints of water per day from indoor air, even at low ambient humidity.
For low-temperature drying or hard-to-reach spaces where refrigerant units struggle.
Penetrating, pinless, and infrared meters log readings on every affected material throughout drying.
FLIR thermal imaging finds hidden moisture in wall cavities and behind finished surfaces.
Continuous air filtration during drying to remove particulates, spores, and odor.

Removing standing water is only the first step. Materials like drywall, hardwood, framing, and insulation absorb water and hold it deep inside. Without commercial drying, that hidden moisture causes warping, swelling, structural weakening, and mold growth within 24 to 48 hours. Proper structural drying is what saves your home from a much bigger rebuild.
Most residential drying jobs run 3 to 5 days of continuous equipment time. Heavily saturated materials, dense framing, or large affected areas can take 7 to 10 days. We monitor moisture daily and only pull equipment when materials hit dry-standard readings — typically 12-15% for wood and lower for drywall.
A typical drying setup runs 4 to 8 air movers and 1 to 2 dehumidifiers, drawing roughly 4-8 kWh per day combined. Insurance claims usually include a small electrical-use reimbursement to cover this. Equipment must run continuously to be effective — turning it off extends drying and can cause mold.
No. Household fans only push surface air around — they do not have the velocity to lift moisture out of materials. Home dehumidifiers extract about 30 pints of water per day; commercial LGR units we use extract 130+ pints per day and remove moisture from much lower humidity levels. The difference between commercial and consumer equipment is the difference between drying and pretending to dry.
No — modern drying equipment is designed for continuous indoor use. We protect floors and surfaces with covers, position equipment to minimize disruption, and monitor temperature and humidity daily. The greater risk is leaving materials wet — that is what causes lasting damage.
We use moisture meters, thermal imaging, and ambient sensors. Each affected material has a "dry standard" reading based on its type and your local climate. We log readings daily and only certify drying complete when every monitored area meets standard. You receive a full moisture log for your insurance file.
